Projects & Species

I consider myself as a marine zoologist interested in the behaviour of free-ranging fish. Using the full spectrum of telemetry techniques, ranging from direct observations to broad-scale remote sensing (acoustic and satellite telemetry), as well as genetics and local ecological knowledge, I study, for example, the large-scale movements of whale sharks, how bull sharks and other species use the Shark Reef Marine Reserve in Fiji, a shark feeding site, and, in collaboration with colleagues in Mozambique, manta ray ecology and behaviour.
